RF Microneedling
Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling combines two technologies commonly used for skin rejuvenation, radiofrequency and skin needling.
RF technology relies on the resistance within the skin itself to convert RF energy into heat (thermal energy). This thermal energy causes collagen contraction and stimulation of collagen making cells (fibroblasts) to produce more collagen.
Skin needling causes physical trauma to the skin and through stimulation of the body’s own wound healing response also stimulates fibroblasts to produce more collagen.
When combined, fractionated RF microneedling gives enhanced results than could not be achieved with either technology alone. Needles can be insulated or non-insulated. It allows RF energy to be delivered to the exact depth required without heat damage to the surface layers of the skin. This minimises trauma to the topmost layer of the skin with the injury coming only from penetration of the fine needles. The channels created by the fine needles allow application of topical products to penetrate more deeply.

How It Works
How Does (RF) Micro-Needling Work?
The RF energy heats the underlying layers of skin, causing constriction and tightening of the skin, as well as the stimulation of collagen and elastin production. Because the RF energy is delivered so deeply, it can produce faster results that are more dramatic.
RF Microneedling uses a gold plated needle device which gently penetrates the skin to deliver radio-frequency deep into the dermal layers of the skin. The radio frequency heats at depths that provide cumulative and ongoing benefits of collagen stimulation, skin tightening and resurfacing.

How many treatments are needed?
RF Mirconeedling is an easy, safe and effective procedure that can be performed in a quick session. To achieve optimal effect, 3 to 4 treatments are recommended. You’ll start to notice results after your second treatment, but optimal results appear three months after the last treatment.
Is RF microneedling treatment painful?
Immediately following treatment your skin will feel warm but will not be painful. Over the following days there will be mild redness and swelling. A numbing cream applied about 30 minutes before treatment is all you should need to stay comfortable. We also apply a soothing mask immediately after treatment to help cool the skin and minimize redness
Is there downtime after treatment?
Downtime is minimal. You may return to your normal routine post treatment. A mild sunburn feeling is common. After treatment the skin may look a little flushed for a short period of time. You must avoid the sun and wear a stand alone 30 SPF sunblock at all times. There is a relatively easy recovery and low risk associated with this procedure. We always encourage you to plan accordingly as some clients experience a greater reaction.
